Terms of Use
Last updated: 7 August 2026
1. Not medical advice
BetterCall provides educational and workflow tools for qualified healthcare professionals. Content is not a substitute for independent clinical judgment, local protocols, supervision, or emergency services. Always verify time-critical information at the bedside. See the Medical disclaimer.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be a healthcare professional (or other authorised user where we explicitly allow) using the service in a lawful manner. You are responsible for safeguarding credentials and devices. You must not impersonate others or create accounts to evade enforcement.
You may sign in with email and password, Google, or Sign in with Apple on supported platforms. Third-party sign-in is subject to those providers' terms as well as ours.
3. Team tasks and chat
Shared ward tasks, patient labels, and team chat are for care-team handover and job lists. They are not a medical record. Where you enter patient-identifiable or special-category data, you confirm that you act under appropriate professional, contractual, and statutory authority (including GDPR Article 9 bases). Enter only the minimum identifiers needed. You are responsible for consents, accuracy, retention, data subject requests, and for breaches caused by your own misuse (for example sharing identifiable data with the wrong person or contrary to your employer’s policies). Chat messages and chat photos are removed after 7 days; the tasks board is the durable job list. Document clinical decisions in your hospital record. BetterCall may suspend features that appear to be misused or insecure.
4. AI-generated output
Outputs from AI-assisted features may be incomplete or incorrect. You must review and validate any suggestion before clinical use. Do not rely on AI output for diagnosis or prescribing without human verification. Do not paste identifiable patient information into general AI helpers.
5. Jobs and applications
Job listings, agency materials, and applications are provided for convenience. Employers, agencies, and applicants are responsible for their own recruitment decisions and compliance with employment and equality law. BetterCall does not guarantee placement and is not a party to any employment contract between users.
6. Housing marketplace
Housing listings, seeker posts, and related messaging are user-generated. BetterCall is not a landlord, tenant, estate agent, or party to any housing agreement between users. BetterCall does not hold deposits, verify listings or identities, or guarantee tenancy outcomes, availability, or the accuracy of user content. Arrangements and payments are between users at their own risk. You must not post unlawful, misleading, or discriminatory listings or messages. BetterCall may remove content or suspend access for misuse.
7. Acceptable use
You must not:
- Violate law or third-party rights.
- Upload malware, scrape or harvest profiles, listings, or other content in a way that impairs the service, or attempt unauthorised access.
- Use the service to harass, discriminate, or endanger patients or colleagues.
- Misuse housing messaging or other messaging features for spam, fraud, solicitation unrelated to the feature's purpose, or to request deposits or rent before a viewing.
- Reverse engineer or circumvent security controls except where permitted by law.
8. Intellectual property
BetterCall and its licensors own the site, apps, branding, and original content. You receive a limited, revocable licence to use the service for its intended purpose. You retain rights in content you upload; you grant us a licence to host, process, and display that content as needed to operate the service.
9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. To the extent permitted by applicable law, BetterCall and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be limited under Irish or EU law, or under UK law where those mandatory rights apply.
10. Changes, termination, and account closure
We may modify features or these terms. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of terms or risk to others. You may stop using the service at any time and may request erasure of your account data through the in-app account closure flow or by contacting conor@bettercall.ie.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, subject to mandatory consumer or data-protection protections in your country of residence (including the United Kingdom) where they cannot be waived.
